The Lo Life Lately: Summer Updates, New Routines & Little Things I’m Loving

Intro:

Welcome back to another post of The Lo Life Lately! 💗

Lately, life hasn't been about huge milestones or dramatic changes. It's been about building the kind of life I genuinely enjoy waking up to- one workout, one new recipe, one good book, and one small habit at a time. I'm learning that the little things really do add up, and while everything is still a work in progress, it's exciting to watch the pieces slowly come together.

So here's everything that's been making up my little life lately.

The Lo Life Lately:

I'm writing this after a four-mile run this morning, so if my thoughts seem a little all over the place... I'm blaming my stiff legs.

Lately, I've been giving my room a few micro renovations, and honestly, it's made such a difference. Somewhere along the way, my recent book obsession completely took over my personality, so naturally I leaned into it. I bought a bookshelf, picked up the entire Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas because I'm almost finished with A Court of Thorns and Roses, and added the coziest accent chair and lamp to create my own little reading corner. Safe to say my room is slowly turning into the book nook of my dreams. (If you've been following my reading journey, definitely check out Lo's Book Club for all my thoughts as I make my way through these series.)

As much as I've been loving my little projects, summer has also felt a little... quiet. A lot of my friends are scattered in different places right now, and I've definitely had moments where I've felt a little lonely. It's weird how both things can be true at once- you can enjoy spending time by yourself while still missing your people.

And finally, a moment of silence because Love Island USA is officially over. My evenings are going to feel a little emptier without the nightly episodes. Congratulations to Brinity on the win-I was definitely rooting for them and Carl & Aniya!

Currently: A little peek into what’s been filling my days lately

📖 Reading: I'm currently about 400 pages into A Court of Silver Flames, and I can confidently say Nesta's character arc has been one of my favorites to read. I'm already mentally preparing myself for the inevitable book hangover because the second I finish, I'm diving straight into the Throne of Glass series. I've heard nothing but amazing things, so my expectations are sky-high. Wish me luck.

Listening to: Music-wise, I've had Megan Thee Stallion, Ariana Grande, and Justin Bieber on repeat. Podcast-wise, I've been bouncing between The Wellness Cafe and DTFae. One keeps me motivated to romanticize my life, and the other feeds my current fantasy book obsession. It's all about balance.

Watching: I officially finished Love Island USA (still mourning the end), and I recently started Love Island UK. So far, I'm actually enjoying it even more. It feels less over-the-top and a little more focused on the relationships, which has been a refreshing change. Next on my watch list is Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro and House of the Dragon. I've heard so many good things about both, so I'm hoping they live up to the hype. Besides that, my YouTube subscriptions have been putting in overtime. I could watch cozy vlogs for hours.

Doing: I've been easing into my training routine before marathon prep officially begins. This week looked like one upper body workout, two lower body workouts, and three runs. Nothing too crazy yet, but it feels good to be building a consistent foundation before the mileage starts climbing.

Loving: Lately, I've found myself gravitating toward nostalgic hobbies and slower moments. I've been playing Roblox, scrolling Pinterest for inspiration, drawing, coloring, and finding little ways to stay entertained without constantly reaching for my phone. One habit that's made the biggest difference has been going on screen-free, headphone-free morning runs and walks. I didn't realize how much I needed that quiet until I started doing it. Those uninterrupted mornings have completely changed the tone of the rest of my day. A few products I've been reaching for nonstop are the Kylie Cosmetics Plumping Lip Liner, Feetures running socks, and the Tower 28 SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray. The facial spray has become my favorite post-workout refresh, especially during these hot summer runs.

Closing thoughts:

If there's one thing this season of life is teaching me, it's that a good life isn't built all at once. It's built in the tiny moments. The early morning runs and walks, the books that keep me up too late, the meal preps that make busy weeks easier, the little room makeovers, and the quiet mornings without a screen in sight.

I'm still figuring things out. Some days feel incredibly productive. Other days feel a little lonely. I think that's just part of building a life that feels like your own. Not every season has to be packed with big milestones to be worth remembering.

Thank you for spending a little piece of your day with me. I hope this post felt like catching up with a friend. I'll be back soon with another episode of The Lo Life Lately. Until then, take care of yourself, find joy in the little things, and don't forget to romanticize your everyday life. 💗
